Biography
Asit Ghara is an Indian painter from Tamluk, Purba Medinipur, West
Bengal, a suburb to the City of Joy, Kolkata, India. His passion for drawing
and composition, explicit expressions of human beings in agony and extasy, poetic
politeness of nature and its subtle solitude and the vastness of this universe
propelled him to get admitted in the discipline of fine arts in the Govt.
College of Art and Craft, Kolkata, one of the most prestigious art colleges in
India. After completing his course in 1984 he joined govt. service as an art
teacherin school in 1988 at the age of 28.His experiments with water colour,
mono print, oil and acrylic venturing with pigments and perspective get shaped
on canvasses and papers through out his long journey of life. His fondness of
human faces layered with joy and sorrow, dressed with dreams and despair,
affirm with fierce struggle for existenceand silent music of the pleasure of
survival is depicted with colours and experience. His relentless endeavor is
continuing.
His works were exhibited in different exhibitions throughout India in
several solo and group shows. His works got collected by collectors,both
institutional and individual, across the globe.
